uKloo Is An Early Reader Treasure Hunting Game
Oh, the fun of a treasure hunt! People of all ages love working to find something, then getting a reward. As a matter of fact, when my kids were young, I’d set up a fun scavenger hunt for them and they loved it. Well, now we don’t have to set it all up on our own. The game uKloo (sounds like you-clue) has done all of the work for us. This early reader treasure hunting game is all the rage this holiday season!
My granddaughter is 6-years-old, but she’s still at the early stages of reading. This game is perfect for her! Parents (an adult) sets up the game beforehand, then the kids read the cards that give them their clues. If your child gets stuck on a word while reading their clue, the game comes with a wonderful “picture helper poster” to help with that. They’ve thought of everything! After finding all of the clues, they’ll be awarded their reward. You can either choose ones that the cards give you or you can write your own with a dry erase marker. Rewards like a special trip to the zoo, a plate of cookies, one-on-one time with Mom or Dad, or whatever you decide you’d like to give them! That’s a lot more fun than simply winning a game.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, we are teaching our children to sit on the couch and stare at their tablets and phones. Instead, let’s show them how to get up and do something fun and exciting, all while getting exercise. Another benefit to this game is that it’s great for all levels of readers. It’s even wonderful for children with ADHD and autism. The game is for ages 4 and up, but let me tell you, I was having a blast!
